Our Personal Story

Brad Baker, owner Coho DesignCoho Design, Inc. has been a life-long dream. Having grown weary after nearly 25 years of working for larger design and sign firms, and wanting the opportunity to work more closely with my customers and create complete solutions for people, I decided to breakout on my own. I’ve always felt the entrepreneurial spirit tugging at me. As an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, and the Coho salmon being a symbol of the Northwest, the name Coho was a natural fit. Having had the somewhat fortune over the years to be a jack-of-all-trades, from majoring in design and illustration at Parsons School of design in NYC, to learning how to manufacture and install signs and graphics during some lean years during my return to the Northwest, it is nice to be able to handle projects from start to finish and understand all apsects of the process. Some projects have been literally huge – such as sign and scoreboard packages for sporting arenas across the country or wrapping Macy’s in a “Barbie” pink ribbon in New York City, to the ones that have a lot of meaning such as creating logo designs for charitable organizations. I absolutely love translating an idea a customer has into something with real visual impact. Something that makes a statement. It’s been a long and rewarding journey from the days painting signs by hand, one by one, to the challenges of multitasking that running a business requires. I look forward to seeing my company progress and evolve with the coming years.

Thanks for taking the time to consider Coho Design.
